TNT Results / Complete Meet Results and Scores

Five TNT swimmers competed at the 2019 NCSA Spring Junior Championships, held March 19 - 23 in Orlando, FL. The meet featured many of the nation's top swimmers, ages 18 and under from more than 160 competing teams. TNT had an outstanding meet, finishing 26th place in the combined men's and women's team scoring.  TNT was also highest scoring team from the State of Alabama and second highest scoring team from Southeastern Swimming.

The TNT kids performed well at this national level meet, accounting for 1 Senior National Qualifying Time, 3 New Southeastern Records, 4 medals, 12 finals swims, 15 New Team Records, and 21 Improved Times.  The team also fielded its first ever relays at this meet.

Letitia Sim, 16, led the team with 116 points and
qualified for finals in all of her individual events. 
Letitia won 4 medals and is the first TNT swimmer to
ever reach the awards podium at this highly competitive,
national level meet. During the course of the five day
meet, between preliminary and finals competition, Letitia
had personal best times and new team records in 12
of her 14 swims.  She also qualified for Senior Nationals
in the 100 breast.

Levenia Sim, 12, the youngest swimmer at the meet of
more than 1500 athletes, also swam well.  Levenia's time
of 58.49 in the 100 Individual Medley, established a new
Southeastern Swimming Record in the 11 -12 girls age
group (old record 58.79 by A. Kyriakidis set 02/24/11) 
Levenia also broke her own SES Record twice in the in
the 50 butterfly going 25.22 in the morning heats and
24.90 that evening in finals. Her time in the 50 back, 50
fly and 100 fly are currently the top times in the nation
in those events.

Trey Sheils, 17, qualified for finals in all of his individual events, scoring 29 points.  Trey competed in 5 individual events, including the 50, 100, 200 breast, 200 IM and 50 free.  Trey's scores in the 50,100 and 200 breaststroke, are what put TNT in the combined team scoring.   

Alyssa Dennis, 15, who qualified for the meet as a relay only swimmer, also performed well.  Alyssa swam two time trials, as well as anchoring the 200 and 400 medley relays.  Both time trial swims were improved times in the 100 breast and 100 butterfly (AAA improved time stadard).  

Elizabeth Chen, 13, also attended the meet as a relay only swimmer and swam well.  Elizabeth swam two time trials, as well as leading off the 200 and 400 medley relays.  Elizabeth had time improvements and improved time standards in both her time trials, including the 100 fly AAA and 400 IM AAA. 

Senior National Qualifying Time:  Letitia Sim, 100 breast 1:00.65.

Medal Winners:   Letitia Sim, 50 breast 4th place, 100 breast 4th place, 200 breast 4th place, 100 IM 6th place.
